Woodland rallied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pick up a big 9-6 softball win over Jonesport-Beals on Saturday afternoon.
Addison Tripp had three hits and was a single shy of a cycle. Tripp hit a double that scored two runs to give the Dragons an 8-6 lead.
Jordyn Phelps got the win in the circle, allowing six runs on six hits and five walks, she struck out 10. Phelps also had a double that evened the score at 6 in the sixth inning.
Maddison Coleman, Karleigh Smith, Carlie Leighton, and Kaylin Hamilton had two hits each for the Dragons. Tripp had three runs scored and three RBI. Coleman scored two runs. Woodland (7-6) will host PVHS on Monday. With the win, the Dragons from outside the tourney to number 13 in the Class D North standings. Top 14 make the playoffs
Aspen Alley and Kassidy Beal had one RBI each for the Royals. Jonesport-Beals (7-6) currently number nine in the MPA heal point standings, will end the regular season on Tuesday at Shead.
