Trenton sweeps Senior Legion doubleheader over the Downeast Captains

The Trenton Acadians made it 10 wins so far on the season, as they would sweep a five inning doubleheader from the Post 8 Downeast Captains on Monday at Washington Academy in Senior Legion Baseball action.

Game 1- Trenton 9, Downeast 4: Joey Beal hit a three-run first inning homer to spark the Acadians offense. He also scored twice and stole a base. Logan Crowley added two RBI, while Hollis Grindal and Wyl Renwick had two hits a piece. Grindal also scored three runs. Dawson Curtis went three innings to get the pitching win allowing one run (none earned) on three hits with four walks, and he stuckout four. Jayden Mahar had two hits and William Ferguson had one RBI for the Captains.

Game 2- Trenton 12, Downeast 8: Grindal had two hits and had four RBI, as the Acadians (10-2) broke open a 4-4 game with six runs in the fourth inning to help complete the sweep. Luke Horne scored three runs, Ethan Haskell and Curtis both scored twice, and Haskell also chipped in two hits. Deegan Scott contributed a pair of runs, one hit, and one RBI. Renwick went the distance (five innings) to pick up the win on the mound. Colby Moholland had three hits, three RBI (three-run homer), and scored three runs in the loss for the Captains (3-7). Max Worcester and Miles Worcester also had two RBI each.
