Trent Goss provided a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning on Wednesday night, as the Trenton Acadians sent the Hammond Lumber Riverdogs to their first loss of the season 5-4 in a Senior Legion baseball game played at Bucksport High School.
The Acadians trailed 4-0 entering the last half of the sixth inning, but tied it when Dawson Curtis hit a three-run homerun and Joey Beal slapped a RBI single to centerfield. The first three hitters for Trenton (11-2) reached to load the bases in the last of the seventh on two errors and a walk, and after Curtis struckout, Goss ended it with a single to center. Curtis sparked the offense in the victory with his big timely homer. Deegan Scott got the win in relief for Logan Crowley on the mound, tossing one scoreless inning. Rogan Lord, Bodie Bishop, and Iven Ingraham each had two hits for the Hammond Lumber Riverdogs (11-1). Lord, Ingraham, and Noah Kain drove in a run each.
