Husson University field hockey dropped their first two games of the season on Friday and Saturday, falling by a goal in each road contest against Saint Joseph (Connecticut) and Eastern Connecticut State.
On Friday in West Hartford, Connecticut- Maddie Morin (Leavitt) scored twice for the Eagles, but a second quarter game winner by Grace Kociszewski gave the Saint Joseph Blue Jays the 3-2 victory. Tessa Capozzoli added an assist for Husson, while Ella Duchette (Brunswick) made two saves in net.
At Mansfield, Connecticut on Saturday- Audrey Molin scored all five goals her team in leading the Eastern Connecticut Warriors to a 5-4 win. Faith Tillotson (Thornton Academy), Sophia Larrabee (Belfast), Elisa Picariello (Dexter), and Lauren Millett (Oxford Hills) tallied one goal each for the Eagles. Picariello and Tillotson both added one assist. Duchette (45 minutes played) and Dominique Giroux-Paré (15 minutes) combined to make three saves in the cage. Husson (0-2) will head to Waterville on Tuesday to take on Colby at 6 p.m.
