Husson men’s and women’s soccer splits with Wheaton College

The Husson men’s and women’s soccer teams split non-conference games in Bangor on Saturday at Boucher Field with Wheaton College (Massachusetts) by identical scores.

In the men’s game- Charlie Cushing scored two second half goals to send the nationally ranked #7 Lyons to the 2-1 victory. Freshman Ludovico Barosi (Foxcroft Academy) had given the Eagles the lead with a goal in the first half in the 41st minute off an assist from Tibo Desorme, before Cushing struck back with tallies about 10 minutes apart in the second half for Wheaton (2-0-2). Garret Jordan made six saves in net for Husson (0-2-1), who will next play at Bates College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

In the women’s game- Sophomore Jaquie Pangburn (John Bapst) scored with just 25 seconds left to give the host Eagles the dramatic victory. Olivia Charles and Thea Gerfen assisted on the game winner. Camila Leiva had a penalty kick goal for Wheaton College (2-1-1). Hailey Tarbox (Sanford) had the other Husson tally, assisted by Rylee Speed (Central). Gabriella Smith (Biddeford) made one save in net. The Eagles (2-1) play at #24 Colby College in Waterville on Sunday at 3 p.m.
