Finn Coburn (Scarborough) scored a game winning goal seven minutes into the second half in Lewiston on Tuesday night, in leading Bates College to a 5-2 non-conference men’s soccer win over Husson.
The game was tied 2-2 at the half before the Bobcats scored the last three tallies of the match in the second half to improve to 2-1-1. Chadi Hamadi and Miguel Diaz Alvarez had the goals for Husson, who remains winless at 0-3-1. Jamie Barr made nine saves in net. They’ll play their conference opener on Saturday at Lesley University. Alex Hensch, Marc Chedid, Bora Ceranoglu, and Antonio Mesa all scored for Bates. George Nassar and Isaac Kolaczkowski combined to make three stops in goal. The Bobcats play another non-conference match at Babson on Saturday.
