The University of UMaine-Augusta softball team has started the fall portion of their 2026-27 season with four straight wins, including a doubleheader sweep over Central Maine Community College in Auburn this past Saturday by scores of 10-2 (5 innings) and 5-2.
Natalie Gilman (Skowhegan) hit a two-run homerun in the Game 1 victory for the Moose, while Veronica Mercier (Bangor Christian) added two hits, one RBI, and scored two runs. Shannah Parsons (Monmouth) allowed one run on one hit in 3.0 innings to get the win in the circle. Parsons did it with her bat in Game 2 with a pair of RBI. Norra Idano (Hermon) chipped in two hits and one RBI for UMA (4-0). Madison Boynton (Medomak) pitched a complete game giving up two runs on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts. Sierra Clugston homered for the Mustangs in Game 1, while Annabelle Bradford went deep in Game 2. Brianna Arsenault (Thornton Academy) and Grace Melvin (Winslow) also provided RBI hits for CMCC (2-4).
