Maine women’s hockey had three different goal scorers on Saturday evening, and would defeat Boston University 3-0 in the conclusion of a two game Hockey East series at Walter Brown Arena in Boston.
After a 1-1 tie on Friday night and dropping the shootout to the Terriers (2-8-2, 1-3-2 Hockey East), a first period goal by Lily Fetch is all the Black Bears would need in capturing four of the possible six conference points on the weekend. Reagan Wurm and Kendall Sundby had the other tallies in the second and third period respectively. Sundby had a goal and an assist in the win for Maine, while Sade Sandilands, Julie Jebouskova, and Brenna Curl added one assist each. Kiia Lahtinen made 23 saves to record her first shutout of the season. The Black Bears (5-6-1, 2-1-1 in Hockey East) are now unbeaten in three straight games, and will return home to take on Holy Cross at Alfond Arena next Friday and Saturday. Friday’s game is set for 5 p.m., while the Saturday series finale will faceoff at 4.
