DEXTER– Brayden Miller scored 10 of his game high 12 points in the first quarter to help the Dexter Tigers cruise to a 52-21 victory over a Stearns in a class C boys basketball game at Ed Guiski gymnasium on Friday evening.
The Tigers never trailed and built the lead to 18-7 after the first quarter. The Tigers shutout the Minutemen 10-0 in the second quarter to take a 28-7 halftime lead.
CJ Cooper chipped in with seven points (3-4 FT), Jason Campbell added six points, Zach White added six points and seven assists, while William Strauch recorded six points, five rebounds, and two steals. Jacob Bickford reMatthew Hanscome and a Matthew Richards put in four points each. Hanscome also had six rebounds and two steals.
The Tigers out rebounded Stearns 29-10. Dexter (6-2) will play at Penquis on Tuesday night.
Seth Garvin led the Minutemen with eight points. Andrew Daigle added five points, Josh Rosebush put in four points, while JJ Cox and Ethan Pelkey put in two points each. Stearns (0-6) will host PVHS on Tuesday.
