The Shead Tigerettes improved to 9-0 with a 43-26 victory over Class C Woodland. Holly Preston led the way for Shead with 19 points. The Madawaska Owls girls team improved to 8-0 with a 50-36 win over Easton.
Houlton had their hands full with John Bapst, but Kolleen Bouchard came up big with 23 points, seven rebounds, and seven blocks as the Shires held off the Crusaders 66-63. Houlton is now 7-0.
Emma Alley scored 20 points to help Stearns get a 73-30 win over Katahdin. Stearns is now 9-0.The George Stevens girls fell to Ellsworth. It is the first loss of the season for GSA.
