Brayden Miller and Zach White lift Dexter to win over Foxcroft/Audio Replay included

DOVER-FOXCROFT– Zach White and Brayden Miller combined for 25 points to lead the Dexter Tigers to a 47-45 win over Foxcroft on Monday night.

Dexter outscored the Ponies 14-10 in the first quarter, while Foxcroft outscored the Tigers 14-10 in the second as the teams went into halftime with the scored tied at 24.

The Ponies had a 31-30 lead midway through the third quarter. Miller made two free throws to give the Tigers a 32-31 advantage with 3:15 left in the quarter. Dexter ended up scoring the last seven points of the third quarter, capped by a White three point shot from past half court that beat the buzzer.

The Tigers took their biggest lead on a White basket early in the fourth quarter that gave his team a 39-31 advantage. White scored seven consecutive points during the 9-0 Dexter run.

The Ponies went on an 8-0 run of their own capped by a three pointer from Drew Dankert that evened the score at 39 with four minutes left in regulation.

Jason Campbell gave the Tigers a 41-39 lead when he followed a missed foul shot and put it up and in with 3:30 left. White scored two consecutive baskets to make it 45-39. William Strauch made two free throws in the final 90 seconds and Miller grabbed an offensive rebound with three seconds remaining as the Tigers held on for the two point victory.

Hyatt Smith led the Ponies with 14 points and eight rebounds. Max Santagata added 13 points, while Jeremy Richard and Dankert scored eight points each. Dankert also had eight rebounds and four steals. Riley Richard chipped in with two points. Foxcroft (2-13) will travel to Old Town on Thursday.

White led the Tigers with 13 points and four assists, Miller added 12 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Campbell scored eight points (2 three pointers) and grabbed four rebounds. Jacob Bickford came off the bench to score eight first half points. Strauch scored five points and pulled down five rebounds. Joshua Simcock recorded one free throw, three rebounds, and three assists. Dexter (10-4) will host Bangor Christian on Thursday.
