Ellis powers Searsport baseball to win over Bangor Christian

Ashton Ellis struck out 17 batters in 6.2 innings to lead Searsport to a 2-1 win over Bangor Christian on Monday afternoon at Searsport. Ellis allowed zero runs on two hits, and only one walk.

The game was scoreless through five innings. The Patriots got the scoring started with one run in the top of the sixth inning when Jack Kolwalksi drove home Cole Payne. Ravon Carbisiero and the Vikings responded as Carbisiero hit a single that scored two. Searsport (2-1) will play at Buckfield on Friday. Bangor Christian (1-1) will be at PVHS on Thursday.

Mount View starts quick in baseball win over MCI

The Mount View Mustangs scored four runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 11-0 win over MCI on Monday afternoon at Thorndike.

Dakota Harriman and Collin Jones powered the Mustangs offense with two hits each. Harriman scored three runs and drove in one. Noah Hurd and Harriman combined on the four hit shutout. Hurd allowed one hit, didn't issue a walk, and struck out seven in 3.2 innings. Harriman finished it off, allowing three hits in the final 1.1 innings. Mount View (1-0) will be at George Stevens on Wednesday. MCI (1-2) will host Winslow on Wednesday.
