Harvey walk-off hit sparks Foxcroft baseball to win over Orono
Aiden Harvey delivered when his team needed him on Saturday morning. With two outs and runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh inning, Harvey drilled one to the right center gap that scored Jadon Richard and gave the Foxcroft baseball team a 3-2 win over Orono.
Orono evened up the score on a run scoring single from Adam Sherman in the top of the seventh inning. In the bottom of the inning, the Ponies took advantage of Jadon Richard and Thomas Day getting hit by a pitch. Richard and Day each stole a base to set up the dramatics from Harvey.
Calvin Landy pitched a complete game four hitter, he allowed two walks, two runs (one earned), while striking out two. Landry threw 82 pitches (55 strikes). Richard stole two bases and scored two runs. Foxcroft (3-0) will host MCI on Monday.
Jack Brewer reached base three times with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored to lead the Red Riots offense. Brewer pitched five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out four. Sherman took the loss on the mound, allowing one run on one hit, he struck out three. Orono (1-2) will host Mattanawcook on Monday.
