Thomas softball extends win streak to three with two victories in Florida on Thursday
The Thomas Terriers beat Ohio Northern University 3-1 and College of St. Scholastica 7-1 in Bartlow, Florida on Thursday to extend their win streak to three games.
Maddy Morris (Skowhegan) singled in a run, Abby Farone scored on an error, and Kayla Duhaime (Ellsworth) provided an RBI sacrifice fly in a three-run sixth inning in the game one win for the Terriers. Morris and Makayla Panich both had two hits. Addy Boyce (MDI) improved to 3-1 in the circle allowing one run on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts in a complete game effort. In game two, Thomas scored five runs in the fourth inning to pull away. Maeve Hickok had two hits including a solo homerun, Carlie Jarvais (Skowhegan) had two hits and an RBI, and Morris knocked in a pair with a two-run single. Megan Oberholzer (2-2) pitched a complete game giving up one run on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts. The Terriers (5-5) finish their Florida trip on Friday against Albertus Magnus College and Earlham College. Thomas will then head back home and will play a doubleheader at Colby College in Waterville on Wednesday, March 19th beginning at 3 p.m.
