Villeneuve-Houle and Poisson had a 2 on 1 shorthanded and couldn't convert, this was after Boija was beaten on the other end but Scholle protected it from going over the goal line. Seconds after the PC powerplay expired, Maine is called for another penalty. Down to 1:09 left

Overtime at the Alfond- Maine and Providence 3-3. The Friars have 51 seconds left on their powerplay, their ninth of the night, yes you read that right

Maine women's basketball (16-8, 9-1 America East) hosting Bryant University (12-12, 5-6) coming up in the Pit at 6 p.m. Projected Black Bear starters- Anna Kahelin, Sarah Talon, Anne Simon, Caroline Bornemann, and Adrianna Smith.

Maine men's basketball (11-13, 3-6) at Bryant (16-9, 8-2) on the road in Rhode Island at 7 p.m.

0-9 start from the floor for Maine women's basketball, as they trail Bryant 5-0 early on with 4:59 left first quarter. Side note- Adrianna Smith needs eight more points to reach 1,000 in her career

Halftime- Maine women's basketball 25, Bryant 25. Black Bears end the second quarter on a run of 12-4. Anne Simon has 13 points to lead all scorers

Maine women's basketball now on a run of 23-8 and leads Bryant 36-29 with 5:54 left third quarter. Simon now up to 20 points

Adrianna Smith just the 1,000 point plateau with a jumper in the fourth quarter. The junior only played 215 total minutes a freshman and didn't start a single game

Final- Maine women's basketball 80, Bryant 57. Four players in double figures led by Simon with 31 points. She is now tied on the scoring list with Heather Ernest (6th). Maine improves to 17-8, 10-1 in America East. Black Bears play at Vermont on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Maine men's basketball, after upsetting Bryant 79-72 on February 3 in Orono, is giving the second place Bulldogs all they can handle again in Rhode Island. Bryant leading 52-51 with 11:15 left to play second half
