Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 231 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 14 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Sydney Allen had nine goals in helping the Central girls soccer pick up three wins. This is the second athlete of the week honor for Allen. She also earned the honor on May 15th, 2016.

- Sydney Allen- Central- soccer- had three goals and one assist in 4-0 win over Sumner. Had one assist in 3-1 loss to Orono. Had two goals and four assists in 7-2 win over Penquis. Had four goals and two assists in 12-2 win over Bangor Christian.

- Deja Doughty- Vinalhaven- soccer- scored six goals in 6-3 win over Highview Christian. Had one goal in 3-1 loss to Highview Christian.
