Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 238 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Michael Norton JR scored five touchdowns in leading Oceanside to a playoff win over Hermon. Norton joins Kennadi Grover (6-17-13), Rachel Frye (4-28-13), and Nick Mazurek (5-3-14) as student/athletes from Oceanside high school that have been named athlete of the week.

      • Michael Norton JR- Oceanside – football- rushed for 237 yards and five touchdowns in 40-33 class C quarterfinal win over Hermon.

Runner up

      • Brad McKechnie- PVHS- Soccer- had three goals in 4-1 class D quarterfinal win over Woodland.

Other nominations

    • Noah Pratt- Greenville- Soccer- had three goals and two assists in 10-0 class D South quarterfinal win over Seacoast Christian.
    • Connor DiAngelo- Greenville- Soccer- had three goals and two assists in 10-0 quarterfinal win over Seacoast Christian.
    • Dillion Drew- PCHS -Soccer- had three goals in 6-3 quarterfinal loss to Fort Kent.
    • Keegan Gentle- Houlton- Soccer- scored two goals in 3-2 class C quarterfinal win over Dexter.
