Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 243 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had 13 Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Peyton Grant averaged 28 points in leading the Dexter Tigers to two wins. The freshman joins Jordyn Bell (9-22-11), David McKusick (2-11-12), Peyton Watson (3) (9-21-14), Trevor Fogarty (2) (10-20-13), Libby Kain (2) (4-21-13), Katie Batron (10-5-14), Brayden Miller (2) (6-11-17), Megan Peach (3) (2-27-17), Hannah Dorman (9-3-16), Zachary White (10-15-16), Tyler Beem (11-6-16), Nathan Richards (6-4-17), Hayley Rossman (2) (10-1-17), and Matt Richards (9-10-17) as student/athletes from Dexter high school to earn athlete of the week honors.

Peyton Grant- Dexter – basketball – the freshman scored 27 points, including 7 three pointers in 61-39 win over Schenck. Scored 29 points in 44-32 win over PCHS.
Runner up
Gabby DePatsy- Medomak Valley- basketball – scored 24 points (4 three pointers) and pulled down nine rebounds in 60-33 win over Mount View. Had 26 points and 13 rebounds in 59-53 win over Camden Hills.
Other nominations
Sydney Allen- Central- basketball – recorded a double-double with 26 points and 10 steals, adding five assists and five rebounds in 70-25 win over George Stevens. Recorded 14 points, nine assists, five steals, and five rebounds in 61-10 win over Lee Academy.
Cassie Coombs- Bucksport- basketball- scored 26 points in 62-48 win over Sumner.
Kat Alley- Stearns- basketball- scored 26 points, including 24 in the second half in 59-49 win over PVHS. Scored 15 points in 57-23 win over Bucksport.
Jenna Dugal- Madawaska- basketball- scored 20 points in 47-31 win over Washburn. Scored 18 points in 45-27 win over Ashland.
Kolleen Bouchard- Houlton- basketball- recorded 28 points, nine rebounds, nine steals, six assists, and four blocks in 57-31 win over Central Aroostook.
Erin Speed- PCHS – basketballl – recorded 18 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in 42-27 win over Greenville.
Alivia Hunt- PCHS- basketball – recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, five steals, and two steals in 42-27 win over Greenville. Scored 10 points in 44-32 loss to Dexter.
Halle Pelletier- Greenville- basketball – scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 42-27 loss to PCHS.
Avery Herrick- Dexter – basketball- the freshman scored 20 points in 61-39 win over Schenck.
Alexsis Sprowl- Jonesport-Beals- basketball- had 29 points in 67-34 win over Islesboro.
Abi Allen- Central- basketball – had 12 points in 75-25 win over George Stevens. Had 20 points in 61-10 win over Lee.
