Maine finishes off sweep at RPI to reach 10 wins

Maine got goals from five different players Saturday evening, and Rob McGovern made 36 saves to lead the Black Bears to the weekend sweep with a 5-2 win over RPI at Houston FieldHouse in Troy, NY. Maine reaches 10 wins before the end of the calendar year for first time since 2013.

Chase Pearson and Patrick Holway had first period goals, while Brady Keeper, Keith Muehlbauer, and Brendan Robbins scored in the second to increase a 2-1 lead to 5-1 after two periods as Maine improves to 10-7-1.

Brady Wiffen and Will Reilly scored for 3-13-3 RPI. Pearson and Holway also added an assist each, while Mitch Fossier added two assists as well. Maine was 1-3 and RPI 1-5 on the powerplay.

Maine takes its seven game unbeaten streak to Boston next Saturday to face Boston University at 7 p.m.
