Bryce Gilbert earns 7th Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 245 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had nine Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Bryce Gilbert from PCHS scored 35 points, including making the game tying shot with four seconds left in overtime loss to Valley. Gilbert joins Taylor Schildroth (George Stevens), Karli Theberge (Hermon), Kolleen Bouchard (Houlton), Justin Thompson (Schenck), and Gage Feeney (Washington Academy) as student/athletes with at least seven athlete of the week honors.

Bryce Gilbert – PCHS- basketball- recorded 35 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and made game tying shot with four seconds left to send game to overtime in 69-68 loss to Valley.

Runner up

Grant Kidon – PVHS – basketball- scored 34 points, including six three pointers in 61-55 win over Dexter.

Other nominations

Isaac Cummings- Brewer- basketball- recorded 17 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in 57-48 win over Mt. Blue.

Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens – basketball- recorded 28 points, six rebounds, five steals, two assists, and two blocks in 71-35 win over Central. Had 15 points in 51-42 win over Lee.

Reece Dannenberg- George Stevens – basketball- scored 17 points (including 5 three pointers) in 71-35 win over Central.

Dylan Haley- Ashland- basketball- scored 30 points in 82-62 win over Wisdom.

Bryce Lausier- Hampden- basketball- the sophomore recorded 22 points, eight assists, and five rebounds in 83-66 win over a Nokomis.

Tyson Gray- Bucksport- Basketball- scored 21 points in 47-37 win over Central.

Jacob Bickford- Dexter- basketball- recorded 20 points (6-6 FT), six rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 57-47 win over Central. Scored 20 points in 61-55 loss to PVHS.
