Big second half sends Dexter girls soccer to 7th straight win

The Dexter Tigers girls soccer team scored four goals in the second half and rolled to a 5-1 win over Central on Saturday morning at East Corinth.

Avery Herrick scores three goals for the Tigers including converting a penalty kick for the only first half score. Hannah Dorman gave Dexter a 2-0 advantage with 29 minutes left in the second half.

Madi Speed nailed the ball into the back of the net on a direct kick with 22 minutes remaining to cut the deficit in half. The score remained 2-1 until the Tigers exploded for two goals in a 40 second span starting at the 10 minute mark.

Danielle Cummings scored one goal while Peyton Grant added two assists for the 7-0 Tigers. Addyson Herrick had three saves on seven shots for Dexter. Rachel Smith had six saves on 14 shots for the 4-3-1 Red Devils.
