The Foxcroft Ponies Field Hockey team came into their home game against Dexter with an 11-0 record. The Ponies outscored their opponents 64-0 until Dexter defeated them 2-1 on Thursday afternoon at Foxcroft Academy.
Tory Asbury gave the Tigers the victory when she put in the game winner in overtime. Kiana Bennett also scored for the Tigers on assist from Asbury. Dexter sits secure in the number two spot in the Maine Principals’ Association class C heal point standings after their upset at Foxcroft. Bella Adam assist Asbury’s dramatic goal. Dexter (7-4) will finish off a three game in three day stretch when they host Mattanawcook in their homecoming game on Friday afternoon.
Sheryl Chase scored the goal for the Ponies. Foxcroft (11-1) will try and get back to the winning ways when they travel to Old Town for a contest on Saturday afternoon.
