That sets up the first playoff meeting since 2004 between the Boston Red Sox and the Yankees.
The best of five American League Division Series will start Friday night at 7:30 PM, game two will be Saturday night at 8:15 PM. The series will shift to Yankee stadium for game three on Monday. Game four (if necessary) will be Tuesday at Yankees stadium. Game five (if necessary) will be Thursday, October 11th at Fenway Park.
