On Wednesday night, Evan Merchant from Jonesport-Beals was named October athlete of the month. Merchant had a great season on the cross Country trails. He joins Michael Norton JR (October 2017) from Oceanside, Carter Tolmasoff (November 2017) from Bucksport, Peyton Grant (December 2017) from Dexter, Sydney Allen(January 2018) from Central, Zachary Wilson (February 2018) from Piscataquis Community High School, Gage Poulin(April 2018) from Central high school, Reece Carter (May 2018) from Penobscot Valley High School, Seth Garvin (June 2018) from Stearns high school, and Riley Geyer (September 2018) as athlete of the month winners. Merchant finished 3000 votes over anyone else in the voting with a total of 5348 votes. Damon Warren (Sumner) and Alex Brown (Mattanawcook) also finishes with over 2000 votes. Full results are below.
