Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 288 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we nominated each of the basketball most valuable players for each class in the Northern Maine tournaments. We had the public vote on the nominations. This weeks Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week is Parker Deprey from Caribou high school. Deprey and the Vikings will take on Cape Elizabeth in the class B state championship game on Saturday afternoon at the Cross Insurance Arena.
Our next athlete of the week winners will be announced between March 12th and March 14rh. The nominations will be taken from state championships from all winter sports. Please send nominations to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com.
