Riley Geyer wins third Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week honor

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 298 past athlete of the week winners. 

This week, we had 10 Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Riley Geyer had five touchdowns (two rush and three pass) in leading Cony to a season opening football win. It is the third athlete of the week honor for Geyer.  It is the third athlete of the week honor for Geyer. 

Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

  • Riley Geyer- Cony- football- threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns plus rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns in 35-18 win over Mt. Blue. 

Runner up

  • Aidan Munro- Oceanside – football- had 195 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 34-6 win over Waterville.

Other nominations 

  • Isaac Cunningham- Belfast – football- 85 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, 4 touchdowns (1 Int return TD) in 26-7 win over John Bapst.
  • Alex Tash- PVHS – soccer- recorded 4 goals and 2 assists in 9-1 win over Schenck.
  • Cameron Paige- Dexter – football- rushed for 98 yards on 13 carries in 37-10 win over Madison.
  • Logan Perkins- Dexter – football – rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown plus threw a touchdown in 37-10 win over Madison.
  • Drew Severson- Medomak Valley – football- rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown in 38-0 win over Nokomis.
  • Levi Ward – Medomak Valley- football- ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns in 38-0 win over Nokomis.
  • Ryan Friend- MCI- football- threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns plus had a 65 yard rushing touchdown in 38-19 win over Winthrop/Monmouth.
  • Dominic Wilson- MCI- football- had two one handed touchdown catches and a key fourth quarter interception in 38-19 win over Winthrop/Monmouth.
