Foxcroft has big second half to pick up girls soccer win over Dexter

DEXTER– The Foxcroft Ponies scored four unanswered goals, including two goals in the last 3:12 from freshman Jade Laplante to grab a 4-1 over Dexter in a girls soccer game played Monday afternoon.

The Tigers took a lead just 9:22 into the contest when Peyton Grant put in a goal that was assisted by Jozlyn Paige. Ainsley Ade evened the score with 26:59 remaining in the first half.

The game remained that same score the rest of the half. Both teams ended the half with eight shots. First year goalies came up big for both teams. Jasmine Lewis had seven saves, including five in the first half for the Tigers. Sadie Avellar also had seven saves, including three in the first half for the Ponies.

Ade added her second goal early in the second half. Dexter (1-1) put seven shots on in second half, including hitting the goal post twice. Laplante gave Foxcroft (1-0) a two goal advantage with 3:12 remaining. Laplante added another with 45 seconds left.
