Emily Reichenbach earns Charles Inn female athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 308 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Emily Reichenbach helped Skowhegan field hockey win their 19th straight regional championship. She followed that three days later with a performance that helped Skowhegan win their 16th start title in the last 19 years and 19th overall with a win over Biddeford. Reichenbach joins Adam Dusty (10-20-11), Marcus Christopher (10-8-17), Ashley Alward (4-23-18), Alexis Michonsk (9-16-18), Adelle Foss (10-7-18), Annie Cook (12-23-18), and Sydney Ames (4-22-19) as student/athletes from Skowhegan high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.

The Charles Inn female athlete of the week

  • Emily Reichenbach- Skowhegan- field hockey- scored two goals in 3-0 class A state championship win over Biddeford. Scored three goals in 10-0 win over Mt. Ararat in class A semifinal.

Runner up

  • Maranda Poulin- Foxcroft- field Hockey- scored three goals in 3-0 class C state championship win over Winthrop.

Other nominations

  • Gabby Martin- Fort Kent – soccer – had three goals and two assists in 6-1 class C quarterfinal win over Dexter. 
  • Silver Clukey- Winslow- field hockey- had two goals and one assist in 7-2 class B state championship win over York. 
  • Karlie Ramsdell- Winslow- field hockey – scored three goals in 5-2 win over Belfast in class B regional final. 
  • Sage Clukey- Winslow- field hockey- scored one goal in 5-2 win over Belfast in class B regional final.
