Bryce Lausier earns second Roadrunner Taxi male athlete of the week

Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 318 past athlete of the week winners.

This week, we had seven Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Bryce Lausier scored 38 points and just missed a triple double in leading Hampden to a win over Messalonskee. He edged out Simon McCormick from Cony who averaged 23.5 points in two games. It is the second athlete of the week honor this month for Lausier.

  • Bryce Lausier- Hampden -basketball- recorded 38 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists in 83-59 win over Messalonskee.

Runner up

  • Simon McCormick- Cony- basketball- recorded 16 points, 11 assists, and eight steals in 93-43 win over Morse. Scored 31 points in 92-89 win over Maranacook. 

Other nominations

  • Myles Brown- Deer Isle-Stonington- Basketball- recorded 21 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and three steals in 74-46 win over Machias .
  • Scotty Ferrie- Central- basketball- recorded 21 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 54-50 win over PCHS. 
  • Bryce Burns- Central- basketball- recorded 19 points, nine rebounds, and two assists in 54-50 win over PCHS.
  • Kobe Gilbert- PCHS- basketball- had 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 54-50 loss to Central.
  • Robbie Dorman- Dexter – basketball- had 15 points and six rebounds in 56-27 win.
