Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. If you want to sponsor the female or male athlete of the week email Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. Use that same email to send your nominations in during the week. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 339 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had three Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Allen Wheaton allowed only three hits and struck out 26 in leading John Bapst to a pair victories. it is the second athlete of the week honor for Wheaton. He also earned AOW on May 25th.
