Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 340 past athlete of the week winners.
This week we had four Rowells Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Gracie Moore put in 11 goals in two games to help MCI field hockey get off to a hot start to the season. Moore joins Jonathan Santiago (3) (9-6-14), Nick Hubel (11-3-13), Austin Tolman (9-13-14), Gavin Dugas (10-25-14), Cassie Miller (2-1-15), Willie Moss (9-27-15), Addi Wiliams (10-25-15), Josh Buker (2) 11-13-16), Jillian Frost (9-11-16), Eli Bussell (11-20-16), Adam Bertrand (11-19-17), Joe Curtis (4-22-19),Allanha McCarron (9-16-19)and Cole Stevees (11-4-19) as student/athletes from MCI that have earned athlete of the week honors.

- Gracie Moore- MCI- field hockey- scored four goals in 5-0 win over Foxcroft. Had seven goals and four assists in 19-0 win over Mt. View.

- Ella Hosford- Bucksport- soccer- scored six goals in 9-0 win over Mattanawcook.

- Layla Conway- Skowhegan- field hockey- had five goals and one assist in 10-0 win over Bangor.
