Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 207 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had seven Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Caleb Shaw averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 3.5 steals in leading Central to wins over John Bapst and Old Town. Shaw joins Max McHugh (5) (1-13-13), Andrew Speed (9-15-13), Jordn Smith (1-18-14), Libby Cook (12-6-15), and Sydney Allen (5-15-16) as student/athletes from Central high school that have earned athlete of the week honors.
McGuire Seasonal Services male athlete of the week
Caleb Shaw- Central- basketball- recorded 23 points, six rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 61-46 win over John Bapst. Recorded 18 points (14 in the second half), six assists, five rebounds, and two steals in 63-46 win over Old Town.
Runner up
Kyle Donlin- Medomak Valley- basketball- recorded 26 points (3 three pointers), seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 65-35 win over Brunswick. Donlin is averaging 20.33 points per game for the Panthers who are 7-0 and at the top of class A north.

Bryce Gilbert- PCHS- basketball- the junior scored 25 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in 57-48 win over Penquis.
Dylan Gray- Central- basketball- recorded 11 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots in 61-46 win over John Bapst.
Keenan Marseille- Hermon- basketball- scored 23 points in 70-55 win over Washington Academy. Scored 13 points in 57-48 win over John Bapst.
Taylor Schildroth- George Stevens- basketball- scored 29 points in 85-44 win over Narraguagus. Scored 19 points in 66-44 win over Penquis.
Ryan Hoogterp- Old Town- basketball- recorded 24 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 63-46 loss to Central.
