Chris Lessner clinched the title of 2016 Eastern Maine Sports football expert when Eli Bussell capped off a dramatic MCI victory in the class D state championship game on Saturday evening.
Brunswick won the class B state title, Bonny Eagle got by Portland in the class A state final, while Wells dominated to win the class C state championship.
This is the first time Lessner has won the Eastern Maine Sports football contest. Robert Beatham has won three of the six years, including the previous two. Beatham came up just short this season. Skip Hawkes and Beatham finished one game out. Andrew Hart and David Mosley ended up tied for fourth place. The final standings are at the bottom of this page.
Frank Johnson won in 2011, Nick Coit in 2013, while Beatham finished on top in 2012, 2014, and 2015.
