Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had five Rowell’s Garage female athlete of the week nominations. Kolleen Bouchard helped Houlton win three games this week. Bouchard averaged 22 points, and close to eight rebounds in the Shires wins overs Foxcroft, Hermon, and Washington Academy. That was enough for the sophomore to claim her fourth Roadrunner Taxi female athlete of the week.
Sydney Allen from Central high school put up big numbers in helping the Red Devils grab wins against PCHS and Washington Academy. Other nominations include Jessicca Girsa from Stearns high school, Libby Cook from Central high school, and Kayla Falone from Schenck high school.

Kolleen Bouchard – Houlton- basketball- recorded 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals in 52-41 win over Foxcroft. Recorded 24 points and eight rebounds in 53-31 win over Hermon. Recorded 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 7 blocks in 68-34 win over Washington Academy. She joins her brother Kyle Bouchard as four time athlete of the week winners. Other athlete of the week winners from Houlton high school include Jimmy Fitzpatrick (10-14-12) and Natalie Hill (9-27-15).

Sydney Allen- Central- basketball- recorded 15 points, 8 assists, and 4 steals in 44-32 win over PCHS. Scored 16 points, 7 rebounds, and three steals in 40-31 win over Washington Academy. Scored 10 points in 57-35 loss to Presque Isle.

Jessicca Girsa – Stearns- basketball- scored 26 points, including 5 three-pointers in 60-34 win over Bucksport.
Libby Cook- Central- basketball- recorded 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals in 44-32 win over PCHS. Scored 16 points in 57-35 loss to Presque Isle.
Kayla Falone- Schenck- basketball- scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in 52-34 win over Penquis.
