Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 229 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations. Matt Richards  edged out Chase Carmichael and Sam Holston to become the 14th student/athlete from Dexter high school to earn athlete of the week honors. Richards recorded eight goals. In two games to help the Tigers earn a tie with George Stevens and a come from behind win over PCHS.

- Matt Richards- Dexter- recorded a hat trick in 3-3 tie against George Stevens. Scored five goals and had two assists in 7-6 win over PCHS.
Runner up
- Chase Carmichael- Bucksporta foorball- rushed for two touchdowns and passed for one in 48-42 triple overtime win over Mattanawcook.
Other nominations
- Seth Holston- Houlton- football- rushed for 171 yards and one touchdown in 30-0 win over Stearns. Holston also started the game with 85 yard kickoff for a touchdown and had 11 tackles and an interception.
- Bryce Gilbert- PCHS- soccer- recorded a hat trick and two assists in 6-0 win over Lee. Had one goal and two assists in 7-6 loss to Dexter.
- Dillion Drew- PCHS- soccer- had two goals and two assists in 6-0 win over Lee. Scored two goals in 7-6 loss to Dexter
- Elijah Allen- Mt. View- soccer- had a hat trick in 8-0 win over Nokomis. Had one goal in 3-1 win over Waterville. Recorded two goals and one assist in 9-0 win over Belfast.
