Husson men’s basketball comes back to grab victory on opening night

The Husson University Eagles men’s basketball team scored the final 11 points of the game to earn an 81-73 win over St. Joes in the regular season opener at Standish.
St. Joes went on a 20-4 run in the first half to build the lead to 37-25 with 5:57 remaining in the half. The Eagles cut the deficit to 4 (44-40) heading into halftime. Trevon Butler kept Husson in the game with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the first 20 minutes.

Butler finished with 24 points and 17 rebounds, while Raheem Anderson added 19 points, and Tyler Norris chipped in with 18 points. Husson (1-0) will play at UMass-Dartmouth next Tuesday.

The Eagles women’s basketball team was outscored 21-9 in the third quarter and fell 79-61 in the first game of the night at St.Joes. Kenzie Worcester recorded 13 points and four assists i her first game for Husson.
