Team/Sport: Bucksport Boys Basketball

Last years record – 8 wins 11 loses

Head Coach- Larry Deans

Expectations- To improve on last years record and to be in the hunt for a tournament birth in Bangor.

Strengths- 9 returning veterans, solid senior leadership. This group has played a lot of basketball together. Worked really hard in the offseason and during the summer months.
We have pretty good athletes and good depth.

Challenges- Only one player with significant height. 4 players returning from serious injuries, which include a torn ACL suffered during summer basketball, a broken arm from football, a broken wrist from soccer and a player with a severe concussion suffered during the last minute of the soccer playoffs. All of these players are counted on to help get Bucksport to the tournament and to win a game there. Bucksport has not won a game at the old auditorium or Cross Center since 2002.

Key Players/Position: Tyler Pye – forward, Riley McLeod – center, Hayden Craig – guard, Kyle Jackson – guard

Coaches Remarks- The kids have worked really hard. Basketball is important to them and it shows by the level of their commitment since the end of last basketball season. If we can overcome the injury bug we currently have, and become relatively injury free, this could be a pretty good basketball team.
