I had a .500 week last week going 1-1-2 as we saw a pair of ties on Friday night before I picked one correct and one wrong Saturday. The Maine Black Bears finished a solid 4-1-1 in their last 6 games to wrap up play before their Christmas break. The Bears are off until the 29th of this month but we will continue to chronicle and pick some other games from around the country.

Last week’s record 1-1-2 Season record 21-8-7

Last week’s results

Friday, December 4th

UNH 3, Maine 3 tied pick

Harvard 4, Union 4 tied pick

Saturday, December 5

Maine 2 UNH 5 correct pick

Alaska-Anchorage 3, Michigan Tech 2 incorrect pick

This weeks games:

#19 Merrimack (6-4-4, 2-3-4 Hockey East) at UConn (5-10, 3-7 Hockey East)

Merrimack is coming off a tough stretch where they had to face the number 1 team in the country last weekend with a home and home against Providence. The series was swept 2-1 and 4-0 by the Friars. UConn is coming off two of the biggest wins in program history sweeping their home and home with #5 UMass-Lowell by 4-3 and 2-1 scores.

The pick- I like how Connecticut is playing right now especially after their sweep over Lowell. The Warriors from Merrimack are on a downhill slide at moment. Slight upset, UConn prevails 3-2.

Minnesota (6-7, 2-0 Big Ten) at #9 Michigan  (8-2-3, 1-0-1 Big Ten)

The Golden Gophers from Minnesota are coming off two overtime victories last weekend at home over Ohio St to open up league play while the Wolverines opened up their Big 10 schedule with a home win and tie against Wisconsin.

The pick- I will stick with with the Wolverines here simply because they have home ice. Should be a great game between these two rivals. Michigan 5, Minnesota 4

Saturday, December 12

#4 North Dakota  (14-2-2, 7-1 NCHC) at #17 Minnesota-Deluth (7-5-3, 4-3-1 NCHC)

The fourth ranked Fighting Sioux had what was supposed to be a competitive series last weekend at home against Denver but instead turned ugly for the Pioneers as the Sioux rolled with 5-1 and 4-0 victories. The Bulldogs from Deluth also had a home sweep with 7-0 and 6-2 wins over Western Michigan.

The pick- The Fighting Sioux are scoring in bunches and also getting some great goaltending no way I will pick against them here even though they are in enemy territory for a league matchup. UND 6,Minn-Deluth 3

#12 Boston University (8-5-3) at #2 Quinnipiac  (15-0-2)

The Terriers are coming off a subpar weekend at home where they split with Vermont. The Bobcats just keep rolling they got road wins at Yale and at Brown by 3-0 scores both nights.

The pick- Quinnipiac Quinnipiac Quinnipiac, did I say Quinnipiac? Terriers are over matched here by better talent. Quinnipiac takes this 5-2.
