Maine vs Clemson Women’s Basketball Updates

Liz Wood will look to help Maine extend their 10 game home winning streak Friday night against ACC opponent Clemson.

Maine is on their way to their 9th win on the season and a 11 game home winning streak as they lead the Tigers 61-34 with 4:50 left in the game.

Maine is torching the nets and outscored the Clemson Tigers 22-4 in the third quarter and are cruising to a 55-24 lead after three quarters.

Maine has scored the first 11 points of the third quarter and are on a 19-0 run. The Bears lead 44-20 with 4:42 left in third quarter.

Maine continues to lead Clemson 33-20 now at halftime. Koizar leads Maine with 14 points, Liz Wood had 7 and Sophie Weckstrom had 6. Maine shot 52 percent from the field and held Clemson to 37.5 percent.  The Tigers are led by Justice Wright who has 6 points.

Maine runs off 8 points in a row and now have their biggest lead of the contest at 33-20 with 2:09 to go before halftime.

Maine ends up with a 9-0 run to take a 9 point lead but Clemson scores 5 in a row to cut it to 4. Koizar drains at three just before the first quarter buzzer. Maine leads 20-13 after one quarter.

The University of Maine Women’s Basketball team (8-4) will host Clemson (3-7) out of the Atlantic Coast Conference at 7 p.m. Friday at the Cross Insurance Center.  Maine comes in with an impressive 76-38 win last time out against Bryant. Clemson has won 2 out of their last 3 games including their first road victory over Tennessee Tech in their last outing.  Clemson had lost 6 straight before winning 2 of the last 3.  Maine will look to extend their 10 game home winning streak.
