PCHS boys basketball rolls to win over Stearns

GUILFORD– Bryce Gilbert scored 25 points, including 12 in the third quarter to lead the Piscataquis Community high school (PCHS) Pirates to a 53-23 win over Stearns on Monday evening.

PCHS had leads of eight after the first quarter,  10 at halftime, and 21 at the end of the third quarter. Ben Morrill added eight points for the Pirates. Cameron Kane and Jarrod White chipped in with three points each, while Dillion Drew and  Devin Ronco scored two points each. PCHS (3-9) will travel to Dexter on Tuesday night.

Devin Whitney led the Minutemen with six points, while Colby Waceken added five points, Seth Garvin, Drake Modery, Andrew Daigle, Trenton Goody, Jarod Briggs, and Joshua Rosebush each had two points.Stearns (0-13) will take on PCHS again on Thursday night.

PCHS shot 7-8 from the free throw line, while Stearns shot 1-12.
