DEXTER– Megan Peach scored 20 points, including 9-12 from the free throw line in leading the Dexter Tigers girls basketball team to a 47-40 win over the Foxcroft Ponies at Ed Guiski gymnasium on Thursday evening.
Foxcroft took an 8-2 lead, Dexter ended the first quarter on a 10-0 run to take a 12-8 lead heading into the second quarter. Freshman Makenzie Beaudry scored six points in the second quarter as the Ponies outscored Dexter 14-10 in the quarter to send the game tied at 22 heading into halftime,
Skyler Theodore was limited in the first half due to getting two quick fouls in the first quarter. Theodore and Peach each scored nine points in the second half as the Tigers outscored Foxcroft 25-18.
Dexter (12-4 overall and 8-0 at home) will finish the regular season with a home game against Bucksport and a game at Stearns next week.
Abi Simpson scored 10 points to lead the Ponies, while Grace Bickford added nine. Foxcroft (9-7) will end the regular season with a game at MDI this Saturday and a home game against Central next Wednesday.
