Tyler Schwanz provides the dramatics in Black Bears extra inning win over Lehigh

Tyler Schwanz had three hits, including a home run in the ninth inning to lead the University of Maine Black Bears baseball team to an 11-6 victory over Lehigh in 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon at Winter Haven, Florida.

Schwanz hit his home run with one out and the Black Bears trailing 6-5 in the top of the ninth inning. Eddie Emerson pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings.

Maine kept the momentum going with a five run 10th inning as they scored five runs. Branden Geary, Caleb Kerbs, Danny Casals, Brett Chappell, and Schwanz all had one RBI during the inning. Logan Fullmer pitched a scoreless 10th inning to lock down the win for the Black Bears.

Schwanz led the offense with three hits, two runs scored, and two RBI. Chappell had two hits and three RBI, while Casals had a triple and three RBI. Maine (5-12) will play Massachusetts on Friday afternoon at Winter Haven.
