Sonja Morse dominated in the circle to lead the Thomas College softball team to a doubleheader sweep over Husson at O’Keefe field on the campus of Husson University in Bangor on Wednesday afternoon.
Morse pitched a three hitter and struck out 10 in leading the Terriers to a 2-0 game one victory. Morse allowed one earned run on seven hits and two walks, while striking out five in a 3-2 victory in game two for Thomas.
Jordanna Agger had two hits in game one for the Terriers. Alannah Healy pitched well in a losing effort for the Eagles. Healy allowed two runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out six.
Lexi Colpack, Lindsy Hoopinger, and Molly Carroll had two hits each in the game two Terriers win. Carroll also had two RBI. Lyndsay Merrill and Casey Lopes had two hits each for the Eagles in game two. Olivia Smith pitched three scoreless innings of relief. Thomas (7-12/2-0) will play at Castleton in a conference doubleheader in Saturday. Husson (5-17/1-3) will play conference doubleheaders at Lyndon State and Johnson State this weekend.
