The Boston Red Sox have won four of their last five games. Their latest victory Tuesday night in Atlanta by a score of 11-4 was highlighed by a five RBI performance from Travis Shaw, including a three run homer in the first inning.

David Price did the rest as he struck out 14 Atlanta Braves hitters, matching his career high, in eight innings of work allowing just two earned runs and improving to 3-0 on the season. Monday night the Red Sox took a 1-0 win in Atlanta behind 6.1 innings from Rick Porcello who improved his record to 4-0 and Craig Kimbrel picked up his sixth save.

The Sox return to Fenway Wednesday night to host Atlanta for a two game series which will finish off the four game home and home interleague matchup. Boston then welcomes in the New York Yankees for their first encounter on the year for a three game series over the weekend. Back to the road for the Sox Tuesday as they head to Chicago to battle the White Sox for three and then a three game set at Yankee Stadium against the Evil Empire.  After that trip Boston will have 13 of their next 16 games in the friendly confines of Fenway Park.

Tonight the knuckle baller Steven Wright (1-2) will oppose the Braves Bud Norris (1-3). Wright has a 1.40 ERA so far this season while Norris comes in with a 6.75 ERA. The Red Sox start Wednesdays play only a half game back of the front running Baltimore Orioles with a record of 11-9. Baltimore (11-8) plays tonight as well as they look to avoid a sweep at Tampa Bay. I know it’s only April, Red Sox fans and it has started slow but by the end of the night Wednesday your Red Sox could be a first place team with a favorable stretch of games coming up.
