Each week during the high school sports season, Eastern Maine Sports will announce a female and male athlete of the week. You can send your nominations during the week to Marc at easternmainesports@gmail.com. When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination. Here is a full list of the 186 past athlete of the week winners.
This week, we had six Rowell’s Garage male athlete of the week nominations.Thomas Spcncer sparked the Penobscot Valley high school Howlers to a 4-0 week. Spencer joins Kayla Dube (4)- (5-12-13), Arianna McKinnon (2) (5-31-14),
Amy Hallett (2) (10-3-15), Ryley Buck (9-13-15), and Jarrett Priest (4-30-16) as student/athletes from Penobscot Valley high school that have been named athlete of the week.
Down East Limousine male athlete of the week
Thomas Spencer- PVHS- baseball- got the pitching victory by firing a complete game, allowing one run and getting six strikeouts, and also had two hits, including a triple, two RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs scored in 8-1 win over Stearns. Recorded two doubles, one single, three stolen bases, and two RBI in 4-3 win over Bangor Chrisitan. Recorded two hits, two runs scored, two RBI, and three stolen bases in 10-2 win over PCHS. Pitched a complete game five hitter, striking out seven in 3-1 win over Searsport. Spencer lifted the Howlers to a 4-0 this week.

Cam Graham- Houlton- baseball- pitched a no hitter in 15-0 five inning victory over Limestone.
Other nominations
Nick Guerrette- Hermon- baseball- pitched a one hitter, striking out seven in 10-0 win over Central.
Caleb Shaw- Central- baseball- had four hits, and four runs scored, plus a two run homer, plus pitched a complete game to earn the win in 11-4 victory over Penquis.
Brayden Miller- Dexter- baseball- hit two doubles in 4-3 win over Bucksport.
Jordi Valls- Washington Academy- baseball- pitched a one hitter in 3-0 win over Ellsworth.
