The Boston Red Sox travel to the west coast for a two game series against the San Francisco Giants. The Red Sox lost two out of three against the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park over the weekend. The Red Sox will follow the series on the west coast with a three game series at Minnesota this weekend. The Red Sox are 33-24 and a half game behind the Baltimore Orioles for the top spot in the American League East.
The Giants lost two out of three over the weekend at St. Louis. They come into the series with a 35-24 record and in first place in the National League West. The Giants currently have the third best record in the National League and fourth best in all of baseball. This is the start of an eight game home stand for the Giants, The highlight of the series, will be a David Price/Madison Bumgarner showdown on Wednesday.
