Comments from coach Chris Wesley

Expectations: I am expecting great things from this group of girls this season. We are on the way up after having a successful season last year that included defeating the #1 ranked team from MDI during the season. The goal is to make the playoffs this year and be playing our best soccer as the playoffs arrive to make us a dangerous opponent to play.

Strengths: The biggest strength the team will have this year will be experience. I have nine seniors returning and only lost two players from graduation last year. The team will be made up of a strong group of seniors, juniors and sophomores who have been playing together for multiple years now. With this being my third year as coach, the girls are finally learning how to play the way I need them to play to be successful in an extremely tough Class B.

Challenges: The challenges are trying to avoid any major injuries and continuing to get all the players to communicate more on the field. The biggest challenge will be for this senior group of players to reach the goals they have set for themselves in their last soccer season in high school.

Key Players/Position: We have two returning 2nd team league all-stars in Grace Bickford-Senior center forward and Jenna Clukey-Junior center midfield. They set the tone for our team in their hustle and skillful play. Our defensive line should also be strong again with Kendra Ewer-Senior center back, Avery Nelson-Junior center back, & Emily Sprecher-Senior wing back along with Kiara Prescott-Junior goalie in her third year as the starter. Other players who will make big contributions to the team will be Kayla McCorrison-Senior midfield, Grace Francis-Sophomore forward, Jackie Pelletier-Sophomore forward and a newcomer, Olivia Wesley-Freshman midfield should provide stability to the team in a variety of ways.

Other information: This is shaping up to be one of the most successful seasons for the FA girls soccer program and I am excited to be a part of it. This is a fantastic group of girls to coach and see how much they have improved over the past couple of years.
