Husson Football picked first in preseason ECFC poll

The Husson University football team was picked to finish first in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference preseason coaches poll. The Eagles are coming off a 7-3 overall record and 6-1 conference mark in 2015.

The Eagles return junior running back John Smith who rushed for 1,733 yards on 296 carries and 20 touchdowns last season. Seven of the top ten tacklers also return to the Husson defense. The Eagles lost quarterback Joe Seccerarcia to graduation.

Rounding out the top three in the poll were Norwich and Castleton.

Husson opens their season with a trip to Alfred State (NY) on Saturday, September 3rd. The Eagles open their home slate of their ten game schedule by hosting Dean College in a non conference matchup on Friday, September 16th at 7 pm at the Winkin Complex.
