Husson field hockey roster filled with local talent as they open season at UNE

The Husson University field hockey team will have plenty of local talent when they take the field at 6 PM tonight for their regular season opener at the University of New England.

Freshman Kolby Kain will join her sister Libby Kain on the roster. They both played for class C power Dexter.  Libby played one year at division 1 UMass-Lowell. She has scored 13 goals in her two seasons at Husson.

Taylor Lovely and Taylor Shaw now experienced players for the Eagles, played high school field hockey at Nokomis. Lovely has recorded 15 goals and 14 assists in her three years at Husson, while the junior Shaw has scored 15 goals in her two years, including 10 in her sophomore campaign.

Amber Anderson, Whitney Arno, and Abi Simmons each won a state championship while playing for Foxcroft Academy during their high school days. Mikayla Tosh and Anne Marie Provencal combined for seven state titles while playing for class A power Skowhegan. Click here for the full roster.

The Eagles are the favorite in the NAC East preseason poll, edging out the University of Maine at Farmington. The game this evening can be seen live here. Husson will play their home opener on Saturday against Gordon. Full schedule.
