DEXTER– Brayden Miller threw four touchdowns and rushed for another in a 51-0 Dexter Tigers victory over Ellsworth In a LTC class D football game played on Saturday afternoon.

“It was a little bit that it was homecoming game, we wanted to start the game off excited. It (onside kick) is something we picked up in the film room, we thought we might be able to take advantage of that,” Dexter senior Zachary White said. “We didn’t necessarily have it planned, thank goodness it worked out in our favor, not just once but a couple of times.”

The Tigers took a two touchdown lead when Miller connected with White for a 32 yard score with 7:43 remaining in the first quarter. Dexter took a 20-0 lead on a Chandler Perkins 22 yard touchdown reception from Miller. Beam scooted in from one yard out with 1:40 remaining in the quarter as the Tigers took a 26-0 lead after the first quarter.

The Miller and Perkins connection happened again on the first Dexter drive of the second quarter. This time it from 54 yards. The final points of the first half came on a White 38 yard touchdown reception from Miller. Allen had touchdown runs from 63 and 76 yards in the second half.

The final buzzer sounded and the focus for the Tigers immediately turned to their game next week. Dexter will host MCI in a matchup of 5-0 teams. The Tigers defense has allowed an average of five points per game. MCI offense is averaging 47.2 points per game. The game can be heard live at Eastern Maine Sports starting at 12:50 on October 8th.

“To show you how big that game is, as soon as this game was over, that was what we were talking about. It is a game we had penciled on the schedule all year, since that last year,”White said. “It is going to be a fun game, intense game, it is the type of game that is the reason we play football. Looking forward to it a lot, especially because it is here (at home),”
